Other members of your child’s PICU medical team may include:
- Respiratory therapists
- Physical therapists
- Occupational therapists
- Pediatric pharmacists
- Technologists
- Child life specialists
Our child life services team is an integral part of your child’s care. Wesley’s child life specialists help the child and family cope with hospitalization and use age-appropriate techniques to help children express emotions and understand their medical care.
Visiting the PICU
Parents are not considered visitors and are welcome at any time. Visitors should be limited to two people at the bedside at a time. In special circumstances, additional visitors may be allowed.
We ask that visitation by other people be restricted during shift changes (7:30 am and 7:30 pm) so that nurses may exchange information and reassess patients.
Wesley supports a philosophy of family-centered care. Adjacent to the PICU are parent sleep rooms, showers and the Ronald McDonald Family Room. A Ronald McDonald House is also located near our campus.
